For your viewing pleasure is this magnificent Ludwig 16x16 3 ply floor tom in opulently clean 2nd generation Oyster Black Pearl with internal paper tag dated 3 23 72. This is among the very nicest examples of early 2nd generation Oyster Black Pearl we have come across, displaying the very best qualities of both 1st and 3rd generation OBP, with a very oyster-y shimmer and less bowling ball affect than 3rd gen. This drum has been very well cared for and there are no splits or damage to speak of. It is 100% original, including dual factory mufflers on top and bottom, which both look great and function. The chrome plating on the lugs, hoops, muffler knobs, leg brackets and legs is excellent. There is one very small bend in the top lip of the bottom hoop which is cosmetic in nature only and does not affect the tuning, sound, or integrity of the drum in any way. The blue & olive pointy badge is in beautiful condition with 6 digit serial # 924XXX. The edges are original and true, and the shell is a beautiful 3 ply with reinforcement hoops and clear maple interior. Most importantly, this drum tunes up easily and sounds amazing! Enjoy!
