For your kind consideration is this historically cool vintage set of early 14" Zildjian A 1st generation New Beat hi-hats. These were produced/stamped in the 1950s and most likely left the Zildjian factory in 1963 during the first year of the New Beat, and the first year Zildjian used the ink stamp seen on the bottom hat of this listing. The "New Beat" model hi-hat was the brain child of Louise Belson, in collaboration with Armand Zildjian. Both of these cymbals have the  '50s small stamp but were paired up and ink stamped very early on the '60s New Beat marketing time-line. From 1963 until 1968, only the bottom cymbal was stamped "New Beat Hi-Hat Bottom", and was paired with a non-ink stamped light or medium weight top, like the hats in this listing. These have the ideal New Beat weights that you're after with the top weighing in at 844g and the bottom at 1260g. They have a lovely crisp articulation and a strong yet musical chick. There is some slight edge roughness and the holes are near perfect with no cracks, dings, or dents. Why pay $430 for a new pair of Zildjian New Beat hi-hats when you can get this fantastic early 1st generation vibey pair of vintage ones for a fraction of the price? Enjoy!
