For your extreme viewing pleasure is this gorgeous vintage pre-war Ludwig & Ludwig No. 50 Super Ludwig 7x14 snare drum. It has elegantly weathered the sands of time, with an internal ink stamp of "39 07" which dates it to July of 1939. There is also an additional string of black ink #'s stamped below the date stamp which may be a serial # or sold date. These were popular in their day for the extra power and volume the 7" depth provides, paired with the easy response of the Super Sensitive strainer. The elaborate pass-through strainer system works exactly as designed and all parts operate smoothly. The original tone control looks great and is fully functional. This drum was ordered with upgraded chrome hardware and still has its original wires paired with some lovely calf skin heads. The hand-rubbed finish on the outstanding old growth mahogany shell is in good condition with a few spots showing some honest wear. The original white enamel Ludwig & Ludwig badge is gorgeous and tightly affixed with original grommet. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind.
