For your extreme viewing pleasure is this gorgeous vintage 8x14 Slingerland Hollywood Ace Radio King snare drum in beautiful mahogany from 1953. This stunning beauty was built with Slingerland's 3 ply shell, and has been lovingly cared for over the past 71 years. It's 100% original with exception of heads. The original wires are in good condition and sound great. The Slingerland Radio King stamped brass hoops look great with very minimal signs of age, as do the 16 beaver tail (Super) lugs. The 3 point strainer and muffler both operate smoothly. The exterior is clean with a few light surface marks. The brass dog tag badge looks great and is nice and tight. The bearing edges are original and true, and it tunes up with the greatest of ease. This deep snare has an incredibly satisfying robust woody tone with great range and sensitivity, and would be right at home among the finest of collections, studios, or stages. Enjoy!
