For your supreme viewing pleasure is this absolutely stunning 1960's Gretsch round badge Progressive Jazz outfit in original Tangerine Sparkle. These drums tune up wonderfully and sound sublime. They nail the 60's jazz sound and vibe with the greatest of ease. The wrap is vibrant and looks gorgeous. It is evident that they've been well cared for throughout their life. The original hardware is clean and brilliant. Original front logo bass drum head. The bearing edges are all true and original, and there are no extra holes or modifications. The interiors of the 6 ply Jasper shells are all adorned with silver sealer paint and paper tags. The snare drum still has the original Gretsch wires which still sound fantastic. All of the tone controls (top and bottom) are nice and fully functional, as is the original Jimmy Pratt bass drum muffler. Tangerine Sparkle is among the very thickest wraps Gretsch used, so modern heads do fit snug, there is some commonly seen seam lifts, and on the floor tom some commonly seen surface splits at the seam that are flat to the shell. These drums look and sound like a dream! 1960s Progressive Jazz sets without extra holes or mods do not come up very often, especially in juicy Tangerine Sparkle, so seize the moment! Enjoy!
