Just in from the great folks at Doc Sweeney, we have this beautiful 5.5x14 Pure Shell snare drum in Ash. To strive for the most resonant shell possible, Doc Sweeney uses advanced milling techniques to make a shell without glued in rings. This technique allowed them to have a shell thickness of 5/16" and a bearing edge/re-enforcement ring of 1/2". The shell is made from a single board, and uses the least amount of glue or drilling of any shell on the market. It is steam bent to perfection and has 45 degree bearing edges. With classy spun brass lugs and a proprietary 3 position strainer, this snare exudes both beauty and extra functionality. These drums have a raving write up in the January 2021 issue of Modern Drummer and that's for a good reason, they sound amazing. Enjoy!
