For your supreme viewing pleasure is this beautiful vintage Slingerland Rolling Bomber drum set and snare drum in classic White Marine Pearl from the 1940s. These WWII era drums were a testament to Slingerland's innovation as requirements were put in place that no more than 10% of the instrument could be made from metal. Many typically metal parts were switched to wood including the hoops, hand carved rosewood lugs, and even the clamshell snare strainer was hand carved from rosewood. Only the tension rods, snare wires, snare tension arm, clips, tacs, and screws were metal. This set is in fantastic condition for its age. There is a tiny chip in the inlay on the front bass drum hoop near the bottom and one burn or chip in the wrap. There is a bit of paint on the tack head and wrap of the 13" tom and the most minimal wear. It comes with a chrome bass drum hoop mount. The tack head on the 14" is in great condition and there is minimal wear on the wrap and just a bit of seam lift that is stable. The 16" floor tom is a lighter shade of WMP. It had period correct metal leg mounts installed and the holes were filled from the original mounts. Both mufflers are fully functional. The snare is all original down to the heads and wires and is in great condition as well. This is truly an iconic piece of history and you'd be hard pressed to find a set in better condition. Enjoy!
