For your prime listening and viewing pleasure is this vintage 15" Zildjian A hi-hat cymbal pair. The bottom cymbal is a Trans Stamp from the late 1940s, and the top cymbal is a 1950s Small Stamp from the era immediately following the Trans Stamp era for hi-hats. Our drum shop does not normally pair together cymbals with different stamps, but in this case we had to make an exception because they sound like a match made in heaven. They're in fantastic condition with that textbook cymbalsmith-ing one can expect from these golden era cymbals.
Each cymbal has a beautiful musical tone on its own, and together they make an exemplary pair of hats from Zildjian's most coveted American cymbals. The bottom measure almost exactly 15" and the top is 14 15/16" giving them a fast and buttery sweet chick sound. They have an articulate stick definition and a gorgeous wash.
They are in excellent condition and have miraculously survived the past 70-80 years with no cracks and near perfect holes. The only flaw to mention is a small ding on the bottom cymbal, typical of Trans Stamp cymbals due to their thin edges.
They weigh in at a svelte 874g/910g. Quite a lovely sounding set of hi-hats. Enjoy!
