For your prime viewing and listening pleasure is this vintage 18" K. Zildjian Istanbul New Stamp crash ride cymbal from the 1960s. It's in very good condition with the original signature still visible under the bell.

Like most vintage Ks, this cymbal is slightly undersized measuring at 17-3/4". It is a fantastic example of golden era, old world Istanbul K cymbalsmithing, with gorgeous lathing and hammering that truly exemplifies the craftsmanship of this era. It is extremely responsive, yet maintains an authoritative woody stick definition combined with a gorgeous and mysterious wash. The bell is extremely complex and musical, and is everything one could want from a vintage 18" K.

There is a 1.5" hairline crack that goes with the grain of the lathing, making it a perfect candidate for a fusion welding repair should you want to go that rout. But the crack does not produce any audible overtones - when you play it you cannot hear the crack in any way - it sounds amazing! It is located at 3-4 o'clock from the foundry stamp when stamp is at 12:00. There are no bends, flea bites, or key hole. Weighs in at 1380 grams. Despie the small crack, this cymbal is beautiful would be right at home amongst the finest of collections, studios, and stages. Enjoy!
