For your prime viewing and listening pleasure is this vintage 18" K. Zildjian Istanbul New Stamp crash ride cymbal from the 1960s. It's in very good condition with a smooth edge, perfect hole, and the original signature still visible under the bell.
Like most vintage Ks, this cymbal is slightly undersized measuring at 17-3/4". It is a fantastic example of golden era, old world Istanbul K cymbalsmithing, with gorgeous lathing and hammering that truly exemplifies the craftsmanship of this era. It's extremely responsive, yet maintains an authoritative woody stick definition combined with a gorgeous and mysterious wash. The bell is extremely complex and musical, and is everything one could want from a vintage 18" K.
There was a 1.5" hairline crack that goes with the grain of the lathing, but has since been expertly repaired by renowned cymbal repairman Tom Foote, and sounds amazing! It is located at 3-4 o'clock from the foundry stamp when stamp is at 12:00. There are no bends, flea bites, or key hole. Weighs in at lovely 1380 grams. This cymbal is beautiful and would be right at home amongst the finest of studios and stages. Enjoy!
