For your viewing pleasure is this amazing 1915 Gibson mandola H2. This is the mandola version of Gibson's A-4 mandolin and shares the same appointments. It has been well cared for over the years, and is completely original except for a new Gibson style mandola bridge and hand shaped bone nut which were expertly installed by an excellent experienced professional (receipt for work included). The original ebony finish looks great with minor signs of age and use. There is one repaired crack located on the top rib which was professionally addressed when the bridge and nut were done. A pro set-up was performed at this time with new strings. There is a slight cosmetic surface split in the top, located beneath the pick guard. It is on the surface only and does not go all the way through the top. This mandola sounds and plays far better than great. The top projects and resonates superbly, and is among the loudest we've come across. Well balanced with nice comfortable low action, this mandola is an absolute treat to play. Enjoy!
