For your viewing pleasure is one of the original vintage Ludwig No. 17 5x14 Pioneer model snare drums from the late 1920s. Ludwig introduced this 6 lug "All Around Model" in 1929 to bridge the gap between their high end drums and the budget models they offered. This drum is made with a one piece brass shell. It's in fantastic condition for a drum that is nearly a century old. The hardware is all original and in great working order and there is only very minimal aging on the nickel plating. The original silk-wire snares were replaced long ago with a set of 1930s all-metal Ludwig Snappi-Snares as shown. Most importantly, the drum tunes up easily and sounds terrific! If you've been wanting an early Ludwig brass snare at a great price, look no further than this incredibly well kept Pioneer. It would be right at home in any studio or snare collection. Enjoy!
