For your supreme viewing pleasure is this breathtaking vintage Ludwig & Ludwig Standard Model snare drum in rare and coveted Peacock Pearl. This 5x14 10-lug model dates to 1927-29, and features Ludwig's Professional strainer and butt. It's made with a wonderful single ply solid maple shell, and is in terrific condition with all original nickel hardware showing minimal wear and lots of shine. This is beyond a doubt one of the most gorgeous drums we've ever laid eyes on and it is both a privilege and delight to be in its presence. Like many snares of this era, an electric drum heater was installed to maintain the calf heads tuning, and this one is still present and fully intact with the lamp which is not often seen. It has a calf head on top and an Aquarian American Vintage on bottom with modern wires and is ready to be played and enjoyed to the fullest. There are no modifications or additional holes. This drum tunes up beautifully and has the excellent, crisp, warm and woody sound signature that can only be realized with the seasoned wood of a nearly 100 year old solid shell Ludwig drum. Enjoy!
