For your supreme viewing pleasure is this fabulous sounding 1930s 6.5x15 Ludwig snare drum made with the same coveted heavy 2 piece nickel over brass shell that the black beauties and Professional models in the 1920s were made with. It is in very good overall condition for a drum that's nearly a century old. The shell is in round, with no significant dings or dents. A few of the tension rods have been replaced with modern rods, but the hoops and rest of the hardware are original. The original P81 strainer was replaced with a newer P83 strainer, and thus there is an extra hole drilled for that. The shell of the drum was stamped with "U.S.N. 9", which indicates that this drum was purchased from Ludwig for the U.S. Navy. Overall the instrument functions very well, and is very useable by today's standards. The drum tunes up easily and sounds excellent. Enjoy the legendary sound of a Ludwig heavy 2 piece shell at a fraction of the price!
