For your prime viewing pleasure is this vintage National Trojan resonator guitar from the mid-1930s. For its age, the guitar is in great condition with no cracks or splits and just a few dings here and there. The finish has beautiful wear from 90 some years of playing. As soon as you pick it up, you'll see why as this beauty is pure joy to play. The Trojan features a maple veneered hardwood body with a mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. This one is a transitional era model and was likely built during the National-Dobro merger around 1936. It's sporting serial number D 288 and has the slotted peghead of earlier Trojan models but with the Dobro style tailpiece that came to be used around 1937. It also has the five fret markers below where the neck is attached and looking through the F-holes you can also see this one uses a neck-stick design versus the dovetail neck joint commonly found on National's wood body resonators. Most importantly, it tunes up with ease and has a beautiful naturally overdriven sound. Enjoy!
