For your intense viewing pleasure is this fabulous pre-war Ludwig & Ludwig Swing Sensation drum set from 1940/1941 in black/gold duco. This is our first ever complete pre-war Ludwig & Ludwig set in over 20+ years of buying, selling, and trading vintage drums and it's a real hoot to play and just overall be in its presence and splendor. It's all original aside from the snare drum heads and wires, and the inside of the snare drum is painted gold to make sure the songs it was played on sounded like solid gold hits! The 11", 12" and bass drum date to late 1940, and the floor tom dates to Feb. 1941. The floor tom comes with the original hard to find cradle. There have been some lovingly tended to small repairs to a couple of the original calf heads and tack binding over the past 83 years to keep 'er in service. This set will look even more eye-poppingly radiant with a set of era correct red temple blocks mounted on the huge rail consolette. All drums tune up and sound great! Enjoy!
