For your viewing pleasure is this 1940s Slingerland No. 157 Student Model Radio King snare drum. Slingerland built its reputation as one of the great American drum makers of the 20th century, and while the Radio King name is best known for the company's premium one-piece steam-bent shells favored by top players like Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich, the Student Model line offered a more accessible, budget-friendly 3-ply alternative for developing drummers. This example has had its original wrap removed, leaving the natural 3-ply mahogany shell exposed for a raw, vintage look. Most importantly, it tunes up like a champ and sounds absolutely fantastic. Enjoy!
