For your kind consideration is this rare Deluxe Ludwig & Ludwig 6.5x14 Standard No. 35 snare drum in White Avalon Pearl from the late 1940s. It's in great condition with some lovely aging on the wrap and nickel hardware and a clean interior on the 3-ply shell. It's all original aside from the heads, wires, and one changed tension rods. This post-war era snare only appeared in the 1948 and 1950 snare drum catalogs is sporting the rarely seen Ludwig & Ludwig Elkhart badge. The lugs are slightly shorter than the orther Imperial lugs of this era with a 2" hole spacing. The controlled response extension snare strainer is another unique feature using a 3-point throw-off with a plate guiding the lever to full-on, semi-loose, or off positions, and snare extenders on either end, which both are missing some playing as shown. The double flanged hoops are both in overall great condition with some light oxidation. The original muffler is also present and fully functional. There are no extra holes or modifications. Mostly importantly, this beauty tunes up well with modern heads and sounds warm and full. Enjoy!
