For your viewing pleasure is this gorgeous 1948 Radio King outfit in wonderful sizes. This set is a sight to behold, & commands attention in any room. According to Slingerland historian & expert Mark Cooper, "around 1947-1949, a unique light blue-ish gray version of Black Diamond Pearl appeared for a while. This was just a “limited run” color variation from the Pyralin manufacturer and was not listed as a separate finish from Black Diamond Pearl. This odd and beautiful variety can also be seen on some post World War Two drums." This set is in this seldom seen light blue pearl wrap, which is equal parts unique & majestic. It currently has a nice set of Aquarian American Vintage heads installed, tunes up great & produces the the wonderful woody & vintage sonic signature that only a well cared for Radio King of these sizes & vintage is capable of reproducing. This was once owned by Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, & the interior of the bass drum bares his signature (Bun is known for signing the interiors of drums from his private collection). The pics show it set up as both a three & four piece outfit. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. Enjoy!
