For your viewing pleasure is this rare vintage Slingerland 12x24 Radio King bass drum in Black & Gold Duco from the mid to late 50s. It is built with Slingerland's legendary 3-ply mahogany interior shell. The lacquer finish has wear as shown giving it lots of vintage vibe. The clip-on spurs, original nickel streamlined lugs, double grip claws, and tympani handle tension rods are all in very good condition with a nice patina and normal signs of age. There is a slight crack in the outer ply on the top of the drum as shown that does not go all the way through. The batter hoop is also slightly out of round as shown in the last photo which does not affect the tuning. It's sporting the 1956-59 black & brass Chicago badge and has an original Radio King calf front head. It tunes up wonderfully with an older Remo CS Dot Emperor batter head, and produces the amazing sonic signature that can only be realized with a vintage Slingerland bass drum that has seasoned for well over 65 years. Enjoy!
