1950s Slingerland 5.5x14 No. 153 Super Gene Krupa Radio King Snare Drum White Marine Pearl
Condition: Vintage
For your viewing pleasure is this stunning Slingerland No. 153 Super Gene Krupa Radio King 5.5"x14" solid shell snare drum in White Marine Pearl. This drum is 100% original with exception of heads and wires, and has the first version of the Bronze / Black badge which dates to 1956-59. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. The Super Strainer, (or clam shell, as it is sometimes referred), operates perfectly and looks great with some wear on the arm. The double padded No. 1080 tone control also operates smoothly. It tunes up wonderfully, and produces the heavenly sonic signature that can only be realized with a Slingerland snare of this vintage that has seasoned for over 65 years. This well cared for drum would equally be at home among the finest of collections, stages or studios. Enjoy!
