For your prime viewing pleasure is this Gibson ES-175 hollowbody electric archtop guitar in sunburst from 1955. An icon of mid-century American guitar design, the ES-175 needs little introduction. It's in overall great vintage condition, and plays and sounds wonderful. This mid-’50s example captures everything that made the model legendary.
This guitar shows honest and authentic well-earned wear consistent with a 1955 instrument that’s been played and loved. The finish still maintains the classic contrast of its sunburst finish beautifully. The neck is comfortable and inviting, and the instrument rings clearly across the board. There is some typical fret and fingerboard wear, mainly in the first position.
This guitar was recently given some well deserved love from our in-house tech. The body was polished, and the fretboard was conditioned. The original date coded pots were thoroughly cleaned, and the original cap was replaced with the correct value bumblebee capacitor that is currently used by the Gibson Custom Shop. It was set up with fresh Gibson strings and the 12th fret measures approximately .120. This guitar is ready to rock!
It weighs in at 5 lbs 13.5 oz. This fine instrument plays great and will make for a fantastic addition to any fine collection or studio. It comes with the fabulous of-the-erra '50s-early '60s Geib hard shell case seen in pics. Enjoy!
