For your viewing pleasure is this stunning Slingerland Radio King Super Gene Krupa 5.5"x14" snare drum built with Slingerland's 3-ply shell, and wrapped in their iconic Capri Pearl. The opal flakes used in the wrap are iridescent and give off hints of pink, purple and green, while we have had quite a few capri pearl drums pass through our shop, this is by far the very nicest specimen of the wrap with the iridescence being absolutely opulent. This drum is 100% original with exception of heads, and has the first version of the Bronze / Black badge which dates between 1956-59. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. The Super Strainer, (or clam shell, as it is sometimes referred), looks beautiful and operates perfectly, as does the double padded tone control. This drum has been very well cared for throughout the years and is quite a sight to behold. It tunes up wonderfully, and produces the heavenly sonic signature that can only be realized with a Slingerland snare of this vintage that has seasoned for well over 60 years. This drum would equally be at home among the finest of collections, stages or studios. Enjoy!
