For your viewing pleasure is this beautiful Slingerland 14x22 bass drum built with Slingerland's legendary 3 ply mahogany interior shell, and wrapped in their iconic Capri Pearl. The opal flakes used in the wrap are iridescent and give off hints of pink, purple and green. This drum dates to MAY 8 1958. There are 4 extra holes from where the original owner added a center post (one of the holes needed is shared with an original rail mount). There are a few splits in the wrap that are towards the center of the shell and go most of the way around. The splits are relatively tight and not very noticeable due to how busy the pattern of the capri pearl is. It tunes up wonderfully, and produces the amazing sonic signature that can only be realized with a vintage Slingerland bass drum that has seasoned for well over 60 years. Enjoy!
