For your viewing pleasure is this stunning Slingerland Radio King Super Gene Krupa 5.5"x14" snare drum built with Slingerland's legendary single ply solid shell, and wrapped in their iconic Capri Pearl. The opal flakes used in the wrap are iridescent and give off hints of pink, purple and green. This drum is 100% original with exception of heads, and dates to MAY 20 1958. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. The Super Strainer, (or clam shell, as it is sometimes referred), looks beautiful and operates perfectly, as does the double padded tone control. This drum has been very well cared for throughout the years and is quite a sight to behold. It tunes up wonderfully, and produces the heavenly sonic signature that can only be realized with a vintage old growth solid maple shell Slingerland snare that has seasoned for well over 60 years. This drum would equally be at home among the finest of collections, stages or studios. Enjoy!
