For your supreme viewing pleasure is this stunning vintage Ludwig 3x13 Be-Bop Jazz Combo snare in the extremely rare Baby Blue/Gold Duco finish. It's in absolutely fantastic well taken care of condition and is all original down to the heads and wires.
This one is sporting the Keystone Transition badge and has an internal date stamp of SEP 29 1960. The actual depth measures to 3.5" which will give it a tone between the later Jazz Combo and Las Vegas models that appeared in 1960.
The chrome over brass hoops are super clean and only shows the mildest signs of age, same with the lugs. The original snare wires and tone controls are in great shape as well. This drum is sporting the original Ludwig Playon Plastic batter drum head, which is in beautiful condition. The Light Blue/Gold Duco paint finish still presents brilliantly, showing only light chipping near the lugs as is common with these drums. This Duco finish is incredibly rare, in our 26 years of dealing with vintage drums we have never seen this particular finish come through our doors.
There are no extra holes or modifications. The throw-off operates smoothly. Most importantly, this fine instrument tunes up with the greatest of ease and sounds simply amazing. It would equally be at home amongst the finest of collections, studios, or stages. Enjoy!
