For your extreme viewing pleasure is this vintage Gretsch 6x14 Renown snare drum from the 1950s in stunning two-tone cream and green lacquer finish. This 6 ply drum is all original aside from heads, and in well cared for condition. While the early '50s Renown snares were catalogued at 6.5" deep and the late '50s models were catalogued at 5.5", this snare measures at a 6" in depth and would have been sold as a 6.5x14 similar to how many of the 5.5"  snares were actually not a true 5.5" depth but closer to a 5.25" depth. The original positive throw strainer is fully functional and looks great. The badge is tight, looks great, and all of the original chrome hardware is in great condition with minimal aging. All clips are intact, and as is typical on these the hoops are slightly out of round where the clips pulled them down which does not affect the sound, fit, tuning, or integrity of the drum. There are no extra holes or modifications and the bearing edges are true and original. Most importantly, it tunes up with the greatest of ease and sounds fantastic! These '50s round badges are a joy to own and play and this one truly is a special piece that would be at home in any vintage drum collection. Enjoy!
