Condition: Vintage
For your prime viewing pleasure is this ultra cool vintage Gretsch round badge drum set from the 1960s. These drums tune up wonderfully and absolutely nail the 60's jazz sound with the greatest of ease. This set was owned and professionally played by Chicago native jazz giant extraordinaire George Fludas. The set was lovingly assembled using all 1960s gretsch round badge shells re-wrapped in period correct black nitron for a timeless look. The 12x16 bass drum is a converted tenor drum and features a 3 ply shell. It has era correct rail consolette tom mount, cymbal L-arm bracket, bass drum legs, and Pratt muffler installed. There is an extra hole filled near each spur bracket, and 2 extra holes filled near rail/badge. The 12x14 floor tom is from a cut down cocktail drum, and features a 6 ply shell. It was drilled for the tom leg brackets and a muffler. There are 3 filled holes filled from the original muffler location and 2 filled holes from the mount. The 8x12 rack tom features a 6 ply shell and has no additional holes or modifications. The hardware is in great condition and the bearing edges are true and original with exception of one re-cut edge on the floor tom. These drums look and sound like a dream, and modern heads fit well. If you've been wanting to get yourself a beyond incredible sounding and looking '60s Gretsch bop set at a quarter of the price, this kit has it all in spades. Enjoy!
