For your viewing pleasure is this rare Leedy 10-lug 5x14 Shelly Manne model No. 393 snare drum made by Slingerland when they owned the Leedy brand between 1955 and 1965. These are sometimes affectionately referred to as Slinger-Leedy drums and this one is sporting a 1960s blue Leedy badge. This snare is in excellent condition with a few light surface scratches and one pinpoint ding on the shell as shown. You'll recognize the original chrome over brass Stick Saver hoops as being Slingerland's influence while it has Leedy style lugs. Instead of the usual Broadway extension strainer, this has a Slingerland dual super snare strainer and butt with the original wires that is fully functional as is the internal muffler. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. It tunes up with ease and sounds terrific. This piece of Leedy and Slingerland history displays beautifully and would be a great addition to any studio or live setup. Enjoy!
