For your prime viewing pleasure is this vintage Ludwig 5x14 Super 400 chrome over brass Supraphonic snare drum from the early '60s. It's in excellent condition as shown.
Aside from the heads and wires, it's all original including chrome over brass hoops, and small knob muffler. The heavy brass shell has crimped snare beds, a visible vertical seam, and is sporting a pre-serial # keystone badge that's nice and tight. The original P-83 strainer operates smoothly and has the original script logo butt. Also present are the early heavy Imperial lugs which show some light pinpoint pitting. Overall the chrome is in incredible condition and presents very clean.
Most importantly, this awesome sounding snare tunes up with the greatest of ease and is pure sonic bliss to play! There's a reason these heavy brass shell Supra snares are sought after, and this one would be a great addition to any player's or studio's collection. Enjoy!
