For your extreme viewing pleasure is this drop dead gorgeous vintage Slingerland No. 143 5.5x14 Gene Krupa solid shell Radio King snare drum from the early 1960s. It's wrapped in Slingerland's iconic Capri Pearl, and is in outstanding well cared for condition. The iridesce of the purple/pink opalescent flakes is magnificent. Aside from the heads, this beauty is all original down to the snare wires. The pre-serial # black and brass Niles badge is nice and tight and in excellent condition. The 3-point Radio King strainer operates smoothly, as does the No. 1080 tone control. There are next to zero signs of aging on the original triple chrome plated lugs and Rim Shot stick saver hoops. There appears to be some factory wood putty on the resonant side reinforcement hoop to fill a stress split that naturally occured in the bending process. This is merely cosmetic in nature and does not affect the sound or structural integrity in any way.
