1960s Slingerland 5x14 No. 130 Gene Krupa Sound King 8 Lug Snare Drum Chrome Over Brass

For your viewing pleasure is this vintage Slingerland 5x14 No. 130 Gene Krupa Sound King 8 Lug snare drum from the '60s. These drums get our vote for being the most underrated power house bang-for-the-buck vintage snare drums on the planet. They have amazing heavy chrome over brass shells which have a wonderfully warm yet commanding sonic signature. The chrome on this drum is strong and shows well with light surface scratches and no pitting. The Zoomatic strainer works smoothly and looks great. There are no extra holes or modifications. The drum is 100% original with exception of the heads and wires.  The original tone control looks good and is fully functional. The black and brass oval badge is nice and tight, serial # 159XXX.  All of the tension rods and washers are original and look great. The top and bottom hoops each have a slight bend in the upper flange which is almost not worth mentioning, can be felt more than seen, and does not affect the structural integrity of the hoop or the tuning in any way. Most importantly, this drum sounds amazing and tunes up perfectly. Enjoy!
