For your viewing pleasure is this vintage Slingerland 5.5x14 Deluxe Student Model snare drum in Green Glass Glitter Sparkle from the late '60s. It's in great condition and all original aside from the modern heads and upgraded Puresound wires. The chocolate milk interior of this 3-ply shell is clean and the bearing edges look great. The wrap has minimal wear with one vertical mark to the left of the butt plate under the hoop, and the seam lays flat. The chrome over brass Slingerland Rim Shot stick saver hoops and lugs are in great condition with very light aging. There is a small split in the panel that shares the badge at the top which is covered by the head and hoop. You can see where a head fit tightly in tat area at some point. The original tone control is fully functional and the Rapid strainer operates smoothly. The serialized Black & Brass Niles badge is nice and tight. There are no extra holes or modifications. Most importantly, it tunes up with ease and sounds fantastic. This would be a great addition to any snare drum collection. Enjoy.
