For your extreme viewing pleasure is this rare 1961 pre-serial # keystone badge Ludwig 6.5x15 "School Festival" model snare drum. This beauty is wrapped in the scarcely seen original red sparkle / silver sparkle / red sparkle banding, which has been very well cared for and is in magnificent condition with no damage or splits. It is completely original including wires and tension rods (heads are extremely nice vintage Ludwig replacements). The interior is date stamped Feb 13 1961 (stamp is very faint, but it is there). The nickel hardware looks great, and the original P-83 strainer functions smoothly, as does the small knob muffler. The nickel over brass hoops and one lug are stamped 523, and the top hoop displays some play wear in the rim-shot area. This drum tunes up with the greatest of ease and sounds absolutely amazing. Who doesn't need the perfect vintage Ludwig wood 6.5x15 to round out their snare drum arsenal? Enjoy!
