For your prime viewing pleasure is this beautiful vintage Ludwig 5x14 Acrolite from the mid 1960s. It's in well cared for condition, and all original including the heads and Ludwig wires. The keystone badge is nice and tight with serial # 88XXX dating it to 1964. The hoops are in great condition with very light aging. As is sometimes seen with these mid-60s transition era snares, this has a chrome over steel batter hoop and chrome over brass snare side hoop. The original chrome P-83 strainer is clean and fully functional, as is the red felt baseball bat muffler, and the chrome on the lugs is clean with very light aging as well. Most importantly, it tunes up with the greatest of ease and sounds fantastic. Every snare drum collection needs a trusty vintage Acrolite, and this one sounds and looks particularly fabulous. This drum would be right at home amongst the finest of stages, studios, or collections. Enjoy!
