For your viewing pleasure is this excellent 1965 Slingerland Hollywood Ace 6.5x14 snare drum in blue sparkle. With exception of replacement Remo heads, this drum is all original including the wires and tension rods. The strainer and muffler both operate smoothly. The blue sparkle wrap is in good condition showing only very light signs of age and use including a few small surface scratches that are only visible under close scrutiny. The chrome is in overall good condition with a hint of pin-point pitting on the lugs. Both of the hoops are chrome over brass Slingerland stick savers. This snare was built with Slingerland's 3 ply shell, and there was one small extra hole that was professionally plugged with a maple dowel and expertly hidden from the outside with a small circular piece of wrap punched from a piece of vintage blue sparkle wrap (the tiny circle of wrap is a slightly lighter shade of blue sparkle). It is located just above the stainer, and is eclipsed from view when the snares are turned on and the trainer arm is in the up position (see pics). This drum tunes up wonderfully, sounds amazing, and is a real treat to play. Enjoy!
