For your viewing pleasure is this 1966 Ludwig Club Date outfit in oyster black pearl. There are no extra holes, and the bearing edges are original and true. The bass drum and 12" tom both have keystone badges with 424XXX serial #s, and the floor tom has keystone badge serial # 420XXX. This set was born together, and they all have NOV 1966 internal date stamps. The wrap on all 3 drums is in excellent condition with no splits, there are some light polishing marks on the top of the bass drum that can only be seen from certain angles. The rail mount is slightly bent but is functional. Some of the tension rods are not perfectly straight on the floor tom, the long single lug floor tom tension rods have a tendency to get slightly bent over the years, but these all function and tune the drum fine. There is some typical splits to the thin inner ply of the floor tom (as seen in last pic), but they are cosmetic in nature and the drum is structurally sound. There is some oxidation and light rust on the bottom hoops of the 12" and 14" toms. The set looks excellent overall. Most importantly, it tunes up wonderfully and is an absolute pleasure to play. Nice original Club Dates in this finish that haven't been pieced together don't come up too often, so seize the opportunity if you've been looking for one. Enjoy!
