For your viewing pleasure this excellent Ludwig 14x22 Hollywood Bass Drum in stunning Oyster Black Pearl with an internal date stamp of AUG 10 1967. This drum is 100% original with exception of the heads. No extra holes or modifications of any kind. The coloring of the wrap is a beautiful example of Oyster Black Pearl, and does not show any brown like some do. The wrap is in overall great condition with no splits. There are some marks from where the tom rims bumped on top. This is a 3 ply drum with white interior. The inside ply has a few splits where the hole for the center post is, but it does not affect the structural integrity of the shell or the sound in any way. Like most Ludwig bass hoops of this period, one of them is slightly out of round, but you can only notice this when removed from the drum. When you place it over the head and start tuning, it goes back in shape under tension and fits and works perfectly. The chrome is beautiful, and the keystone badge is nice and tight with serial # 538XXX. The bearing edges are true and original, and the drum tunes up easily and sounds beautiful.
