1969 Ludwig Oyster Black Pearl Super Classic

For your supreme viewing pleasure is this gorgeous 1969 Ludwig Super Classic outfit in stunning 2nd version Oyster Black Pearl. This beauty has no extra holes or modifications and still has the original front Ludwig Weather Master head.  We have had many vintage Ludwig sets over the years, but this is the first 2nd version Oyster Black Pearl set with Keystone badges we have come across. The 2nd version of this wrap is very rarely seen on keystone badge drums, and the earliest documented version of this wrap is from July of '69.   I might also add that the 2nd version of this wrap is considerably more beautiful than the 3rd version offered a little later on, which if you are reading this are probably well aware of.  The two date stamps on this set are from August 16 and August 18 1969, making this a very early example. The set is in overall great condition. As is seen in many of the Ludwig sets of this period, there is some factory wood putty inside the shells, including on the bottom edge of the floor tom where there is a slight typical dip.  But most importantly, all of the drums tune up well and sound fantastic.  Enjoy!
