For your viewing pleasure is this excellent example of a 1969 5x14 Ludwig Supraphonic snare drum (date stamped MAY 9 1969). It is 100% original in every way with exception of a Remo head on top (bottom head is a nice original Ludwig Weather Master. The chrome is super nice considering how notorious these drums are for pitting and flaking. Other than a scratch in the panel to the left of the strainer, it is very clean. There are no dings or dents. This drum was made right as Ludwig first started introducing the P-85 strainers, and the P-85 on this baby is extremely clean and operates very smoothly. It features a Keystone badge with six digit serial number 715XXX. This drum had a top head that was seated very deep at one point, so the top edge has some cosmetic marks, but it does not affect the tuning or sound in the least. It has the era correct large muffler knob, which is in good working order. In the pics, you can see a little tape mark on the muffler knob, it has since been polished off and now looks perfect. There is the slightest bump in the top hoop, but it is barely noticeable and does not affect the tuning, fit, or sound in any way and is almost not worth mentioning. All tension rods and washers are original, and the original Ludwig wires look and sound great. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. It's difficult finding '60s keystone Supraphonics in this condition, so if you've been looking for a nice one, don't hesitate. This drum tunes up like an absolute champ and sounds amazing.
