For your viewing pleasure is this excellent example of a 1970 6.5"x14" Ludwig Super Sensitive snare drum (date stamped Aug 10 1970). It is 100% original in every way with exception of a nice replacement top head (bottom head is nice original Ludwig). The chrome is clean for an original '70s Super Sensitive. It is well known that these drums are notorious for pitting and flaking. While this drum does have some pitting and mild handling wear, it is much less so than normally seen on these, and this is a great looking drum overall. There are no dings or dents. The SS mechanism operates smoothly, as does the muffler. It features a pointy Blue & Olive badge with six digit serial number. All tension rods and washers are original, and the original Ludwig wires sound great. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. It's difficult finding '70s 6.5" Super Sensitives in this condition, so if you've been looking for a nice one - don't hesitate. This drum tunes up like an absolute champ and sounds amazing. It would be right at home amongst the finest of recording studios, or on any stage. Ready to play right out of the box. Enjoy!
