For your viewing pleasure is this gorgeous vintage Gretsch stop sign badge Name Band II Outfit from the 1970s. As one might expect, these drums tune up spectacularly and sound sublime. It sports a beautiful Black Diamond Pearl finish and displays wonderfully.
As seen in the pics of the 13" and 22", there are splits in the wrap from early on, shortly after the set was made. They are located at the back of the 13" not visible at all from the front, and close to the bottom of the 22" in the panel above the spur, not visible unless looking from a very low angle from the side. The splits are stable and have not moved for decades since they occurred shortly after arriving at the music store that ordered them. Because of this, the store put them in their back storage, where they sat unsold for decades until they eventually permanently closed. These come directly from their first owner who never gigged them. This history gives the set a unique condition in that they were essentially unplayed for the vast majority of their life.
With that in mind, the rest of the kit is in excellent condition with some ultra-light pin point pitting here and there. The Gretsch rail mount on the bass drum works great. All of the tone controls (top and bottom) are nice and fully functional, as is the original Jimmy Pratt bass drum muffler.
There are no other modifications to these drums of any kind. All of the bearing edges are true and original. Most importantly, it tunes up with the greatest of ease and is pure sonic bliss to play. Enjoy!
