For your viewing pleasure is this 14"x20" Gretsch Round Badge Progressive Jazz bass drum from the 1960s in rare and sought after Tangerine Sparkle. This is a 6 ply drum with silver sealer interior, and paper tag (serial # 443XX). This drum is all original with no extra holes. The hoops, heads, T's, claws, and Pratt muffler were not present when we received the drum, and is being sold as found (please let us know if you are in need of any of these parts, as we may have some available). Subsequently, what you see in the pics is what you get. Once assembled and paired with toms, this bass drum will present itself very nicely. There is no tom rash in the usual place, and the top three panels, which are the panels you actually see when set up, are in beautiful condition with no scratches or blemishes. There are some scuffs and two or three small pock marks in the wrap in the panel above the right spur (if viewing from front), and some scuffs in the panel that the right spur shares. All of the other areas look great and are very presentable. The lugs have great chrome with little to no pin-point pitting. The diamond bracket has great chrome with some light pin-point pitting, and is missing the factory wing nut and one internal fastening screw. The rail mount is fully functional as well as quite presentable with just a little chrome loss here and there. The spurs are original and in good shape. The bearing edge on the batter side is original and true. The bearing edge on the resonant side has a few light bumps, but nothing that will affect the tuning or tone of the drum. This bass drum will definitely tune up great, and will have that "Great Gretsch Sound" they were famous for! As most of you will know since you're reading this, Tangerine Sparkle is among the thickest of wraps, and subsequently, regular Remo heads fit tightly (Remo did start making heads for vintage drums recently, and there are quite a few alternative options that fit these drums well now). So, if you have a Progressive Jazz outfit in Tangerine Sparkle, but your bass drum has extra holes in it, today is your lucky day! Enjoy!
