22" Zildjian A 1940s-50s Trans Stamp Ride Cymbal 2964g #700 *Video Sample*
Condition: Vintage
For your supreme viewing and listening pleasure is this most excellent vintage 22" Zildjian A trans stamp ride cymbal. It weighs in at a sturdy 2964g, and is very well suited for jazz, or any other style that would benefit from the complex and nuanced sonic signature that these early hammered beauties can offer. This cymbal exemplifies the fact that the weight does not matter as much as where the weight is distributed. While this cymbal is technically on the heavier side for a 22" Trans Stamp, the edges are quite thin, as is a large area in the shoulders, which has this cymbal sounding and playing like it is much lighter than it is. Like nearly all fantastic sounding trans stamps, there is an area of the edge that dips down from being played there due to the thinness, this area is the sweet spot and should be loved, not feared! No cracks, flea bites, or keyhole, just a slight edge ding. It wears a gorgeous natural patina. It has dark, K like qualities, and is a true joy to play. Enjoy!
