Early 1960s Camco 4 ply Oaklawn Drum Set 20/12/14 White Moire
Early 1960s Camco 4 ply Oaklawn Drum Set 20/12/14 White Moire
Condition: Vintage
For your viewing pleasure is this incredibly cool early Camco set made in Oaklawn, IL. It is finished in rarely seen White Moire, and sports early Oaklawn, IL (pre-"USA") badges and coveted early 4 ply Jasper shells. It shows signs of use including some discoloration and the commonly associated spider webbing that moire and satin flame wraps are known for, but does not have any extra holes or modifications. The T's and claws are gorgeous Camco reproductions with correct vintage threading. The hoops, rods and rod washers on the toms are correct size replacements. The mufflers had been removed prior to us receiving them and were not included. The floor tom has the correct early Camco/George Way leg brackets which function perfectly and look great. The chrome on the lugs looks great on the bass drum and floor tom, the chrome on the 12" tom lugs looks good overall but has some flaking and slight chrome loss on a few of them. All of the bearing edges are true and original. This set tunes up wonderfully in a wide range of tunings, and is a magical instrument to play. If you've been wanting an early 4 ply Camco set at a more affordable price, do not hesitate.
