Ambrosia Maple is a rare and unique hardwood. The gorgeous stain pattern found on this drum set is a result of ambrosia beetles boring into the wood of the tree. The beetles carry with them the ambrosia fungi, which then beautifully discolors the wood. Ambrosia Maple is also known as Worm Wood and is coveted for its use in furniture. As far as natural wood finish drum sets go, this kit is unique and truly extraordinary.
This kit is in fantastic condition. The only cosmetic flaw to speak of is a very small of plating loss on the bottom hoop of the 14" floor tom, shown in the last pic. Otherwise there are no structural issues, and this set is all original. The proprietary tube lugs are milled from aircraft-grade aluminum, and all of the fasteners are stainless steel. The floor tom uses a suspension cradle to help maximize resonance.
