For your supreme viewing pleasure is this very special DW Collector's Series Exotic drum set in Burnt Toast Burst over Super Birdseye Maple. This all maple set is in fabulous condition with close to zero wear aside from play marks on the original heads from it being tested, and is 100% original with tags still present. It's essentially a 23 year old NOS set in showroom demo condition. This set has a unique backstory in that it was built for Besse Forest Products. Besse was one of DW's suppliers for hard maple and exhibition grade exotic figured maple (they also supplied Gibson Guitars with furniture grade wood for some of their top tier custom shop offerings). John Goode (executive VP and resident drum designer for DW) had this set built for Besse using wood purchased from them as a gift to show their appreciation for their strong working relationship, which Besse proudly displayed in the boardroom of their corporate office in Gladstone, Michigan for over twenty years, virtually unplayed. The chrome hardware displays gorgeously with minimal signs of age. The set was born together at the Oxnard, CA factory with internal date stamps of OCT 10 2002. The snare drum is a Ten and Six all-maple shell, and the MAG throw off functions smoothly. There are no extra holes or modifications and the bearing edges are true and original. There is one tiny imperfection in the form of a small ding on the bass drum (see pic with finger pointing it out). Extremely densely populated 5A+ exhibition grade birds-eye maple of this caliber has grown extremely scarce over the past 10+ years, has consequently become much more expensive, and the vast majority of it has no where near the dense figuring found on these drums. Most importantly, it tunes up with the greatest of ease and sounds exactly how you'd dream the very best of the best DWs would sound.
