Early 1970s Ludwig 5x14 "Cut Badge" Brass Shell Supraphonic Snare Drum COB
Early 1970s Ludwig 5x14 "Cut Badge" Brass Shell Supraphonic Snare Drum COB
Condition: Vintage
For your extreme viewing pleasure is this vintage Ludwig 5x14 Supraphonic snare drum from the late 1960s / early 1970s. This is the rare brass shell, not the aluminum version. All original aside from the heads and wires. There are no extra holes. The shell is in superb condition and the original hoops have some slight pitting. Behind the muffler knob, the shell is stamped "B" for brass. The original 1st generation P-85 strainer operates smoothly, as does the muffler. It features a rare pointy Blue & Olive cut badge, which they did early on for the 5x14 shells leftover from the 1960s because the badge wouldn't fit the earlier lower placement of the grommet hole. Most importantly, this drum tunes up like an absolute champ and sounds amazing. Enjoy!
