For your extreme viewing pleasure is this super clean vintage Ludwig No. 900P Super Classic 5.5x14 snare drum in Oyster Black Pearl. It is in exquisite, collectors clean condition. There is something utterly magical about the early oyster black wrap of the 1950s vs. what is seen in most of the oyster black from the 1960s. The patterns look deeper, more 3-D, and hypnotic. Aside from a newer vintage Ludwig coated batter head, it's all original including the wires and Ludwig Playon plastic resonant head. This drum has the large blue 1958-1959 trans badge and is date stamped DEC 19 1958. It features a chrome WLF Classic P-87 throw-off which operates smoothly and WFL butt plate. The chrome over brass Ludwig P-158 triple flanged chrome over brass hoops with drop gate and P-95 bowtie lugs are in fantastic condition with no pitting. There are no extra holes or modifications and the bearing edges are true and original. This drum tunes up with the greatest of ease and sounds absolutely incredible. This will easily be at home amongst the very finest of collections, studios, and stages. If you've been looking for one, you'll be hard pressed to ever come across a finer example. Enjoy!
