For your viewing pleasure is this vintage Ludwig No. 491 Pioneer 5x14 snare drum in blue sparkle. Aside from the heads, this drum is all original including the wires and is in lovely, well cared for condition. The pre-serial keystone badge looks great and is nice and tight. The internal date stamp of AUG 18 196X is smudged and looks to be either 1960 or 1961. This drum was ordered with nickel hardware and has original strainer and butt, round knob muffler, and beautiful bow-tie lugs. All tension rods and washers are original. The nickel over brass hoops are in excellent condition with nearly zero oxidation and no pitting and it has the early 60s drop gate bottom hoop. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. This drums tunes up with ease and sounds great. This would be a perfect addition to any collection. Enjoy!
